Christian Women's Blog Hop Featuring Jennifer from Renewing Housewives

Wow, I've been reading a lot of amazing blog posts the last few days thanks to you incredible women.  When I was first approached about helping with this blog hop, I was a little apprehensive but it has been such a blessing.  You ladies have encouraged, uplifted and challenged me in ways I really needed.

Today's featured blogger is Jennifer from Renewing Housewives.  This post really spoke to me because Jennifer shares one of my biggest fears- rejection.  Boy, did I need this post this week.  I have been hosting a huge 1 person pity party the last few days because I have felt rejected.  Jennifer's post was definitely representative of the struggle that's been going on in my own heart.  Thank you for helping me to snap out of it!

"Overcoming the Fear of Man or what others think

So, my fear of fears?  I promised to share with you today what I'm most afraid of.  I've been attempting to overcome this fear for some time now, and honestly, that is the whole reason this blog exists, originally anyway.  It can be called any manner of names, I wrote of it on Saturday, yes... rejection.  


Rejection is how the world would define it.  Fear of man is how the Bible defines it.  Either way it works out the same.  And either way it can be paralyzing and ungodly.

'The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.' Proverbs 29:25"

Christian Women's Blog Hop Featuring Lynette from Walking on Water

Welcome back to the Christian Women's Blog Hop.  We're working on getting the name changed to include ALL female followers of Christ instead of the mommas!  =)  This is super exciting!

This week I'm featuring Lynette from Walking on Water.  Last week she linked up an awesome post called Signs of Life.  It helped me to realize that all of those little messes that my son leaves around the house are just part of the blessing of having a child.  It's a sign of life.  I love that.  I hope you'll go by her blog, read the entire post and be blessed.

Today's Christian Mom's Blog Hop featuring Amber from Calling Her Blessed

First of all, let I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for getting behind on the blog hop.  I have every intention of doing some catching up with visiting and following you awesome ladies during naptime tomorrow.  ;)  Life has been hectic the last couple of weeks and the little fella has been teething and angry, requiring extra cuddles and attention.  I pick cuddles over blogging any day. ;)  

Becky Jane and I are trying to each feature one of you lovely ladies during the weekly blog hop.  Don't forget you link up new posts each week and perhaps we'll pick yours next.

This week I am featuring my new friend, Amber and her blog, Calling Her Blessed.  Her blogs is filled with Bible truths and practical ideas that are especially helpful for Christian women whether they're married or single, parents or not, working in or outside of the home.

If you work with or mentor young women, you might find her blog especially beneficial.   She has posts about modesty, dating Christians and Bible study. 

The first post that I read on her blog is one called 101 Ways to Raise Faithful Children.  As the parent of a 1 year old, there are few subjects closer to my heart.  This treasure chest is full of helpful nuggets that Amber has collected from several parents who successfully raised faithful children.

Christian Mom Blog Hop Favorites

Lately, I've been challenged and encouraged by reading the posts from you ladies in the Christian Moms Blog Hop!  The last few weeks I have been in a bit of a funk, feeling sorry for myself about things that I cannot change instead of embracing the blessings that are.   God has blessed me far beyond anything that I could ever imagine or desire, but I often need to be reminded of that.  I lose sight of the fact that this world is temporary and the only thing I really truly have to have is God.  Everything else is just icing on the cake. ;-)  That's a hard thing for me to remember, but I hope it will get easier as I work to empty my cup of self and fill it with God.

This week I've been studying Abraham and how God promised Abraham great things, but Abraham and Sarah failed to take into account that God could do anything in His time.  They often took matters into their own hands instead, making a complete mess of things.  Their lack of faith and patience not only affected them, but nations of people to come.  I was left wondering how my attitude, actions and words affect others.  It's bad enough if they cause sin in my life, but if they lead to sin in the lives of others, isn't that much worse? 

Anyway, I've been praying super hard this week that God would empty my cup of its ugly, sinful contents like pride and jealousy and fill it with love, compassion and purity.  I don't think it's a coincidence that I came across these blog posts from some of our Moms in the hop. If you're struggling with some of these same things, I hope you'll read these posts and be inspired.*

A Borrowed Bed @ Beck Far From Home - I loved the way that Beck bore her soul in the midst of a painful situation.  We've all felt this way at some point.

Preparing for Life's Big Events Through Prayer: Day 1 a Place of Rest @ Jesus and My Orange Juice -  This reminded me to stop carrying my burdens and find rest in God.

Looking Back @ Oh That Mom Again- Kelly reminded me that difficult times are best met with prayer.  Pray before they happen, when they happen and after they happen.
